Westin Poinsett Hotel Wedding DJ | Greenville, SC | Madison and Haden

Haden and Madison’s beautiful winter wonderful celebration was one of the last of the year, and it was absolutely magical. On December 19th three years prior to that day, Haden had asked Madison to be his girlfriend. They felt it was only appropriate to keep that date close to their hearts by tying the knot on that exact day. Not only was this the dating anniversary but it was also Madison’s parents wedding anniversary. This day was filled with so much love and joy and we were thrilled to be a part of it. 

Haden and Madison chose to get married at one of Greenville’s favorite wedding destinations, The Westin Poinsett Hotel. To see this venue through the year is one thing, but to see it at Christmas time is a whole other! They take decking the halls to the extreme are we are here for it each and every year. Not only did Haden and Madison have beautiful Christmas trees lit with holiday lights, the gorgeous uplighting helped accent the room perfectly.

Indigo Hall Wedding DJ | Spartanburg, SC | Ansley & Zach

Holy moly, it is crazy to think that this amazing couple have almost been married for a year at the end of the month. They say time flies when you are having fun and although 2020 has been full of interesting twists and turns, we know Ansley and Zach are definitely weathering the storm like champs. 

Ansley and Zach got married at Spartanburg First Baptist Church with their reception following at Indigo Hall. During the renovations it was no question that the building’s authenticity and original features were what makes this a true hidden gem set in Old-Time Spartanburg. Their guests came from all near and far to celebrate this wonderful couple and the love they share. The dance floor was packed all night and love was in the air on this crisp Fall night.  

Mr. and Mrs. Warren, thank you for allowing us to make your wedding day truly special and one to remember. Lions Gate Manor Wedding DJ | Spartanburg, SC | Justin & Sarah

WOW! What a beautiful day. Sarah and Justin were one of the best couples we had in 2019. They were both full of life and ready to eat, drink and be married (and PARTY, of course!). Sarah and Justin chose one of Spartanburg’s very own secret garden for their late Spring wedding, the Lions Gate Manor. Established in 2015, Lions Gate Manor was once a English Country style home that was built in 1978. It’s perfectly settled Croft State Park and Foster’s Creek, the 7-acre property has hundreds of oak trees, a beautiful waterfall, creek and more. 

As their ceremony started, we knew this was going to be an emotional one. There was such love and happiness that surrounded Sarah and Justin, and there was not a dry eye in the house to prove it. One the reception began, it was a it was a party for the books! Sarah and Justin had all their favorite hits played and their guests were loving every minute of it. When they were not dropping it low on the dance floor, everyone was enjoying our Social Share Photo Booth. 

Sarah had a perfect vision of how she wanted their wedding day to be and he vendors team made it happen. Check out everyone that had a hand in making this beautiful vision transform into a real-life fairytale down at the bottom.

Greenville, SC Wedding DJ | Larkin's Wyche Pavilion | Amy and AC

As you may know already, it has been raining a whole lot here in Greenville, SC lately. As spring had begun, Amy and AC's wedding day was complete with its fair share of the wet stuff. However, the rain didn't stop an epic wedding celebration. Their family and friends were so great and we had the best time DJ'ing and celebrating their wedding day. We provided DJ services and our traditional style Photo Booth, complete with NYC themed props. As you'll see, the NYC theme was carried all throughout their wedding reception. 

Amy is from Greenville and AC is from San Francisco. They met in New York City in the spring while living only 10 blocks apart. AC is a Dermatologist and Amy works in finance by day and teaches Zumba classes after work. Before they met, she would always walk right past his apartment as she taught at the gym on his block, but they never knew each other. They finally found each other and when it was time for their wedding, decided to come back down south, but they just had to include touches of their now "home" and it was perfect!

We had a great group of wedding pros that helped make Amy and AC's wedding day so amazing. Special thanks to everyone!

We are so excited to share Megan and Ben's magical wedding day. We were so honored they chose us to be their wedding DJ for their wedding celebration right here in Greenville, SC. They also chose to hold their big day at one of our favorite wedding venues, The Old Cigar Warehouse on Main Street. The wedding team was then made even more awesome with the addition of one of our favorite wedding planners, Kelley with Clink! Events. To put the cherry on top, they chose our good friend Jenny Williams to be their wedding photographer. We have worked with Jenny a solid handful of times over the last couple of year and we absolutely LOVE her wedding pictures! As the saying goes, "Team work makes the dream work", and their awesome wedding was a pleasure to DJ.

Chelsey and Jared's Romantic Wedding Day

Our Couple: Chelsey and Jared met in college, Jared played football and Chelsey played field hockey. Football would practice on the field first and field hockey after that, so they would see each other in transition. They had mutual friends and Jared asked them to hook him up with Chelsey. They started dating in October 2012, finished college in 2015, moved to South Carolina and got engaged in April 2016. They moved to SC in search of the warmer weather that we have as they love to go hiking and to spend more time outdoors. They also got into crossfit last summer as Chelsey wanted to get wedding ready and now they are competing in crossfit competitions and enjoy their time doing that together.

The Wedding: Chelsey and Jared's wedding took place at one of our favorite venues, The Old Cigar Warehouse. We provided music and sound for their ceremony and the reception, as well as the photo booth, which was a huge hit. We had a great time celebrating with them and we're excited to share all of Jenny Williams' great pictures from their big day. We are so happy to feature Victoria and Moore's awesome wedding that we had the honor of DJ'ing. They chose the Cannon Centre in Greer, SC, which has a beautiful park and many places to capture great pictures. We provided DJ services, blush Uplighting Package, and our Photo Booth Experience for their wedding celebration. Victoria and Moore are some of the sweetest people we've ever met and we had the best time working with them!

About the Couple: Victoria recently graduated from the University of South Carolina and Moore graduated from Clemson University. They have been together for five years. They got engaged on December 22, 2015 when Victoria's family planned a visit to The Biltmore House. According to Victoria, "Moore was suppose to come but couldn't. My family told me to dress up really nice because we were going to take Christmas photos there (I should've known something was up because my family never takes Christmas photos). We walked up the path to where you can take pictures with the whole Biltmore House behind you. My family wanted to just take some photos of me and after fixing my hair I looked up and saw Moore. He pulled me off to the side and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, of course I said yes!!" What a sweet engagement story! From there, the rest is history. Laura and Alex's Wedding | DJ & Uplighting | Westin Poinsett

If I could only use one word to describe Laura and Alex, it would simply be "FUN". From our first consult, through planning, and the wedding reception itself, I had so much fun getting to know them both and creating their very special wedding day. As you can see in their pictures below, they love to smile and share cute and goofy moments. That said, the love between these two was to obvious and easy to see. They're perfect for each other.

Laura and Alex's reception was at one of the best venues in all of Greenville, South Carolina, The Westin Poinsett. We find ourselves there quite often and just love it for so many reasons. For their reception, not only did we help throw an epic dance party, we also provided uplighting which transformed the Gold Ballroom and added an additional "wow" element. Did I mention that the dance floor was packed? Well, it was packed, for hours. It was a special celebration in so many ways and I am so happy we got to be a part of it. Cheers to the Arabea's!!!

Their first look was quite special. Their reactions were priceless!

Laura and Alex chose a super unique first dance song that we just loved, called "Dancing Shoes" by Green River Ordinance. It was the perfect song for the two of them.

Laura and her dad's special dance was to "I Believe in You" by Steven Curtis Chapman. The look on their faces says it all.

Alex and his mom had us create a special dance edit for them which blended Lady Antebellum's "Never Alone" and Paul Simon's "Love Me Like A Rock". It truly reflected Alex's fun, spontaneous personality.

Katherine and Britt's Magical Westin Poinsett Wedding

Where do I begin with Katherine and Britt's wedding reception and celebration. At Uptown Entertainment, we have been focusing on elevating the aesthetics and appearances of wedding entertainment. Their wedding featured our new Luxe Package, with custom built DJ booth, uplighting, and premium lighting and sound. Not only did we have an amazing DJ setup, but we also provided our ALL NEW Motion Monogram on their dance floor (see pictures below). On top of all of that, we created a custom ceiling lighting design an incorporated a floral motif to carry the over-the-top floral theme all the way through their wedding celebration. All of this came together so well and it looked AMAZING! Now that I've geeked out about what we provided, let me say that we had a stellar reception, full of love, special moments, and LOTS of dancing. The Uptown Entertainment Team

JUSTIN REID

MARQUEE DJ, EVENT HOST, OPERATIONS

Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Justin Reid has been DJ’ing and entertaining weddings and private events since 2003. He has always had a great love and passion for music, so when the opportunity to become a DJ he jumped at the chance.

At first, Justin DJ’d part time on weekends, but over time, he decided to go full-time and dove head first, DJ’ing 4-5 nights a week for various clubs and events. Justin has been a full-time DJ since 2007.

Justin’s passion lies in creating fun and unique events, especially weddings. He says “No two events are the same. Each couple is unique and deserves an event that fully reflects who they are.” He has a B.A. in Graphic Arts from The University of South Carolina - Upstate, so his eye for design ties in quite well to creating a particular aesthetic and experience when it comes to weddings and events.

When it comes to throwing once-in-a-lifetime celebrations, some of Justin’s go-to songs include (in no particular order) “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg”, “Party In the USA”, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Bye Bye Bye, “It’s Tricky” and “Yeah”, to name a few. Justin’s strengths are in music programming (creating the perfect order and soundtrack of songs to fit the vibe and atmosphere) by reading the crowd and his organization in helping plan the perfect flow of events for any event.

When he’s not rocking events, Justin writes for Mobile Beat magazine, the mobile DJ industry’s longest running publication. He also consults other wedding and event-related small businesses on marketing and organization. For fun, Justin loves watching sports, enjoying a great meal, listening to music and podcasts, playing golf, binge-watching a good Netflix series, checking out a new brewery, attending a concert, and spending time with his wife.

ADAM SCONYERS

MARQUEE DJ, EVENT HOST

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Adam Sconyers moved to the Upstate almost two decades ago. His introduction into the world of DJ’ing started while he worked for a local radio station. It was at that job Adam started DJ’ing events part-time. It wasn’t long until Adam took his talents and skills as a DJ full-time. He has been rocking parties and private events full-time for over 10 years!

When it comes to weddings, Adam takes great pride in being a part in making a couple’s wedding day a day to truly remember. He has an incredible knack and strength in reading the crowd and picking the perfect song for each and every moment. Adam also has quite an extensive knowledge across many genres of music. He loves dropping Earth, Wind, & Fire, Usher, or almost any Bruno Mars songs on a jumping dance floor. He says, “The best part of my job is seeing a couple leave their wedding ecstatic because it went so well.”

When Adam isn’t rocking a wedding or event, he enjoys traveling, listening to music (of course), and playing a few rounds of golf.

JOE TETZEL

EVENT HOST, DJ

Originally from Ohio, Joe Tetzel started DJ’ing at 20 years old. It all started when a  friend asked him to tag-along to a couple weddings and Joe was hooked from the very first event. He loved being a part of an atmosphere where “everyone was there to be happy, have fun, and to celebrate”. Joe came to Uptown Entertainment 3 years ago and has been an awesome addition to the team!

When it comes to the wedding day, Joe is talented in many areas. From his expert planning, guidance, selecting great songs, and his love of seeing happy people on the dance floor, Joe is a natural fit to be a wedding entertainer. Joe’s dance floor home runs are anything Bruno Mars and his go-to, “Jump On It”. As a father himself, Joe quickly admits “I still tear up every time I see the bride walking down the aisle with her dad. Having a bride and groom come up after a wedding and excitedly tell him “everything was perfect” is what Joe lives for!

When Joe isn’t packing dance floors, he loves to scout out hole-in-the-wall eating spots, spending time with his family, hooking and slicing golf balls into the woods, riding bikes, and learning and playing tunes on his guitar.

CHRIS CUNNINGHAM

EVENT HOST, DJ

From the Garden State of New Jersey, DJ Chris Cunningham has been honoring his passion for DJ’ing for over 20 years! Chris got his start DJ’ing in a skating rink in the mid 90's in New Jersey, spinning vinyl and cassettes. Chris’s roots in the craft were honed as a long-standing resident bar and club DJ. He now primarily focuses on weddings and private events because as Chris states, “This isn't a job to me, it's my passion”.

One of Chris’ greatest strengths is his ability to read the crowd and create an amazing soundtrack that fills the dance floor. Some of his favorite soundtrack picks and floor fillers are Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Earth, Wind, & Fire, and Run DMC. One of his most fulfilling moments on a wedding day is when a couple or a guest approaches him and exclaims that "this is the best wedding I've ever been to". His goal is to have everyone leaving the celebration with an unforgettable musical journey.

When he’s not filling dance floors, Chris enjoys playing drums, bass guitar, oil painting, blowing glass, long boarding, chess, hiking, and watching and collecting horror movies and memorabilia.

ALEX DUNCAN

MASTER DJ, PRODUCTION SUPPORT

Alex Duncan has been DJ'ing since the early 2000. Well versed in many genres of music, he began his DJ career in 2001, performing small gigs and a weekly residency at a local club in Alabama, where he resided at the time. In 2003, he joined Uptown Entertainment, beginning his career as a professional DJ. He spent several years with Uptown and eventually left South Carolina to travel and explore different realms of DJ'ing, including: large-scale clubs, art exhibits, and various festivals, furthering his knowledge and abilities. He returned to Uptown Entertainment in 2016, and after 17 years in the business, he always knows how to read the crowd and choose the perfect song at just the right time.

In his spare time, Alex enjoys the world of gemstones & minerals with his partner. Not only do they enjoy collecting, but they love hunting and finding, as well. In his spare time Alex is still very active in the world of music. He produces, mixes, and collaborates with other artists to create various styles of house, dubstep, and drum & bass music. However, this love of EDM doesn't detract from his love of the classics.

Throughout the years, Alex has stayed in tune with the music he loves and plays for people at numerous events. Whether it's a dance floor full of festival-goers or a granddaughter standing on grandpa's feet while dancing, the people are what brings a smile to Alex's face and what fuels him to be a better, brighter DJ.

RACQUEL COLLIER

PARTY ROCKER DJ

All the way from Mayesville, South Carolina, Racquel E. Collier better known as "Chef Rocky" has been a Professional DJ for five years. The name was given as a joke while having a conversation about her DJ style. A client once said "you always have the right ingredients to get the party started." Since then she has used it as her professional stage name.

As a freshman at Clemson University, Racquel began looking for ways to make cash to get through the semester. After playing music at house parties, a friend challenged her to try DJ'ing professionally. She accepted and five years later she continues to share her talent with as many people as she can!

If she isn't turning the party up, in her spare time Racquel enjoys reading books, researching history, and developing business ideas. She jokes "without a doubt, I am secretly the biggest nerd on Earth!".

"A Whitney Houston track is the perfect dance floor ingredient", she says. My dance floor home runs are always songs that are a mix between dance and sing-alongs.

Racquel notes "Seeing smiling faces and knowing that I contributed to producing a night people will never forget is my favorite part of my job! The view from the DJ booth is an honest representation of how great of a job I am doing. I always aim to do better than the last!"

Her greatest strength is having the confidence to talk to anyone! This quality helps her make the crowd comfortable and warms everyone up to a night of fun! DJ, PRODUCTION SUPPORT

Eric has  been in the industry for 4 years, but started by running sound in the theater. After he went to school for theatrical directing, Eric found a home for his knowledge in wedding production. He loves being able to use his skills and expertise to make a couple's day smooth and hassle free.

In his spare time he participates in local theater productions, dances east coast swing, and never passes up a chance to work with his hands. For Eric, "Nothing beats the feeling of seeing a happy couple at the end of the night and knowing I helped get them there."

Eric's greatest strength as a DJ is his ability to blend with the guests and act as a host for the evening by staying off the microphone and engaging guests personally to make each individual feel welcome. As he loves to dance, some of his personal favorite songs range from Big Band hits by Benny Goodman and the Stray Cats to modern Caro Emerald and even DNCE.
